With a name like Hotel Des Arts, it is perhaps not surprising that much of what makes the hotel unique is its decor and design. The hotel combines Colonial elegance with modern flourishes, and the walls are lined with paintings and antiques, selected from the owner's own personal art collection.
The facilities at Hotel Des Arts also embrace this eclectic combination. Enjoy afternoon tea accompanied by music from the grand piano in the ground-floor Café des Beaux Arts, before heading to the rooftop Social Club Bar, where you can sip on a delicious cocktail and listen to chill-out tracks played by a DJ as the sun goes down. The hotel's rooftop boasts the highest bar and infinity pool in the city, and provides fantastic views across Saigon. While the pool is reserved for in-house guests only, the bar is popular in the evenings with outside visitors.
The hotel's Saigon Kitchen Restaurant offers all-day dining. Mimicking a typical street food court, the open kitchens take the taste buds on a journey up and down Vietnam, and there are also Western dishes. Up on the 23rd floor, the Social Club Restaurant offers its diners beautiful views across Ho Chi Minh City and serves European-inspired cuisine, using fresh seasonal produce.
The rooms are fairly compact, but cleverly designed, with a sophisticated and luxurious color palette of gold, cream and polished wood. The suites offer much more space, including larger bathrooms. All rooms and suites offer a combination of Colonial decor, including custom-designed furnishings and period artwork, with modern touches such as flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning.
