Experience the very best of Alaska on this active and adventurous itinerary to the Last Frontier. With stays at some of the finest lodgings in the state, you'll be able to visit hidden and remote locations, enjoy unique wildlife sightings and take on adventures unlike anywhere else in the world.

  1. Days 1-2: Alaska

    Upon arrival in Anchorage, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel to rest for the evening.

    Accommodation: Hotel Captain Cook (1 night)

  2. Days 2-4: Denali National Park, Alaska

    The next day, wake early to collect your hire car and drive four hours north to Denali National Park train depot. From here, you will be picked up by Camp Denali and begin your journey into the park. Your journey will take you via staggering mountain scenery and wandering wildlife. Don't worry, there will be plenty of time for photo opportunities and to ask your guide questions about your surroundings, as well as the wildlife that inhabit the park. With two nights here, spend your time in a remote wilderness location, exploring on naturalist hikes with resident guides, interacting with other guests over great locally sourced food, and attending evening programs to learn about the ecology, history and culture of the area.

    Accommodation: Camp Denali (2 nights)

  3. Days 4-5: Alaska

    The next day, you'll transfer back to the Denali train depot where you will pick up your car again and drive back to Anchorage. With a few hours to enjoy the city, you might wish to visit the Heritage Center go shopping or enjoy the culinary delights of Anchorage's restaurants.

    Accommodation: Hotel Captain Cook (1 night)

  4. Days 5-7: Alaska

    Now it's time for your luxury wilderness adventure to begin. Take a small floatplane to the exquisite Winterlake Lodge; a luxury six room private lodge offering guests once in a lifetime helicopter excursions to nearby glaciers, pristine lakes for fly-fishing and hiking the historic Iditarod Trail. Kayak or canoe on Winterlake itself, or raft the Happy River. You'll have three nights here to enjoy the wild landscapes of Alaska's last frontier state, and indulge in complimentary cooking classes, yoga and massage to start or end your days of exploration.

    Accommodation: Winterlake Lodge (2 nights)

  5. Days 7-10: Alaska

    Next, you’ll be flown by private floatplane to Tutka Bay, Winterlake's sister property that lies on the rugged fjord of Kachemak Bay. Sitting on a remote coastline with deep fjords, Tutka Bay gives guests the opportunity for Alaskan adventures on water. With just six rooms, the lodge offers an intimate experience, with hospitality and excellent local food at the heart of what they do. During your stay, take a cooking class, go in search of marine mammals, otters and birdlife on an ocean kayak or enjoy freshwater fishing. Tutka will also take guided bear viewing excursions on the Katmai Peninsula, a true highlight, if the weather permits.
