Angela Malek

North America, Oceans & Islands & Europe Specialist

Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started exploring the world at a young age and even earned a bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism. I love the thrill of discovering new places, but I also deeply appreciate the value of rest and true vacation time. Over the years, I’ve built up quite a few stories, from getting too close to a moose in Denali to witnessing a volcanic eruption in Hawaii. And yes, I once traveled to Australia and New Zealand with my entire extended family, all 58 of us!

Can I book an escorted USA tour?

Whether you're taking a romantic road trip as a couple, seeking a family getaway or a luxury USA tour created for small groups, when you book a Scott Dunn vacation, you'll enjoy exclusive personalize-made trips.

Each of our escorted tours in the USA has been crafted to give you an unforgettable experience. We've designed itineraries that give you access to some of the country's most desirable destinations. Plus, we can provide you with private guides who have expert local knowledge. They're on hand throughout your stay.
When is the best time to take a USA tour?

The climate in America is varied. The type of weather you encounter will depend on when you travel and where your USA tour takes you.

In terms of weather, northern states share a lot of similarities with the UK. They have four seasons, with warm and cooler temperatures and snowfall in the winter.

The tour you choose may depend on the type of weather and the season. For instance, if you're hoping to catch the beautiful autumn colors in New England, October is the best time to travel to this part of the USA.

Should you want to explore America's south, you may wish to avoid hurricane season, which occurs in late summer. Want to go sightseeing in New York? Spring is ideal. Temperatures are comfortable and the city isn't too busy from April to June.

How do I get around the USA?

The USA is vast. Taking a tour in this country might require a domestic flight. However, at Scott Dunn, we have created a series of tours that offer the opportunity to take a luxury train tour across different states.

You can also take your pick from a selection of road trips we have curated. These are exclusive itineraries that incorporate luxe accommodation, private dining and personalized experiences, personalized to your tastes. Our travel specialists know how to get across America in style, so you can relax and enjoy your time in the States.
What do I need to know before driving in the USA?

For your American adventure, you may want to take a tour along Route 66 or hit the Pacific Coast Highway.

To rent a car, you'll need a valid driver's license with photographic ID. You will also need to present a credit card to the rental company to authorize the security deposit. We will arrange everything else on your road trip, from hotels and activities to where you will dine.

When you are out on the road, it's important to remember key differences from the way we drive in the UK. For instance, in the US, motorists drive on the right-hand side of the road. Road rules vary by state, too, so it's worth taking the time to familiarise yourself with these before you travel. However, our team of experts will explain this and more to you before you hit the road.
Will I need health insurance when I go on my USA tour?

As there is no national healthcare system in the USA, all medical treatments and procedures are done through private care. Therefore, it is recommended that you have insurance in place before you take your tour.
There are so many USA tours to choose from. How do I decide?

Knowing where to travel depends on the type of vacation you want. Are you looking for beachside locations? If so, you might consider a USA tour on the west or east coast. However, there are plenty of experiences to indulge in away from the shore.

If you love blues or rock 'n' roll, a trip to Memphis could be for you – or, if thrilling experiences among dramatic mountain ranges are something you long to try, you could head to snowy Alaska or the sprawling Rockies.

Our travel team can help you to make your decision. We're here to discuss the type of vacation you have in mind. There are many itineraries available, which can all be personalized to suit your requirements.
How do I plan my USA tour vacation?

Once you've selected the trip that suits you, we can take care of the planning. Whether you want a luxury tour of the USA's west coast or a city break in Seattle, we have everything covered so that you won't have to consider the logistics.

Tell us what you want from your USA tour and we'll create an unforgettable vacation. Plus, our dedicated team is available 24/7, supporting you before and during your trip.
How much do your USA tours cost?

USA tours start from £3,800 per person but the final price will depend on the specific elements of your trip. Our expert travel specialists will talk to you about the costs so that you'll know exactly how much you can expect to spend.
