Depending on your interests and which galleries are open with interesting exhibits at the time of your visit, the exact art galleries will be discussed with your guide. Throughout the morning you will have the chance to visit at least three galleries in the city which is a great way to become acquainted with the art scene in the city.
During the day you will have the chance to make a stop at Pansodan Arts which provides a fantastic overview of the art world in Mynamar from traditional works to modern and abstract periods. During the visit you will also be able to view war time propaganda pieces which are hugely interesting. In contrast, close by you will find Sule Eain which features rotating exhibitions of contemporary painters provide a fantastic comparison to the earlier works.
Also included in the day are the River Gallery and Lokanat Gallery which aim to highlight the local talent in Myanmar to a wider international audience, both traditional works and more contemporary pieces.
In keeping with the tour’s theme, you can enjoy lunch at Pansuriya restaurant which is a restaurant, art gallery and antique shop rolled into one.
With its long history of craftsmanship, no art tour of Yangon and Burmese art would be complete without visits to some of the best antique galleries in the city and time will be made to visit the ‘Golden Valley’, the center of these. Here you will find numerous galleries and shops packed full with treasures from the colonial era and before.
