This half-day tour (available between late October to mid-March) begins with an exciting boat ride across Inle Lake under a star-lit sky. Arriving to a small village the crew then sets up the hot air balloon, and then, after a safety briefing from the pilot, and a short introduction to the ballooning experience, it is up, up and away!  Rising gently above the lake, as the sun starts to rise, you are treated to a completely different view of the marvelous floating gardens, network of canals and stilted villages that spread out below.  If the wind is steady, the pilot has the option to land the balloon on a small platform on the lake before continuing the journey. By contrast, sometimes the balloon can reach heights of 1000 meters meaning you literally have your head among the clouds. The wind around Inle Lake, which is set in a valley, means that no one journey is the same. The experience lasts for around an hour, and when you descend the crew will be waiting with a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate the flight, along with a light breakfast.
