The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.

Keinnara Hpa-An is a rural property allowing guests to explore the southern Karen (or Ka-Yin) State, which is synonymous with its dramatic scenery filled with caves, monoliths, mountains and rivers. Nearby villages are characterized by the weaving industry where looms are used daily to create colorful clothing in the local style, which are worn by staff at the hotel, and which adorns the cushions on the cottage balconies and beds.
Keinnara Hpa-An has just 18 tasteful cottages which can be found dotted around paths, of which two are Family Cottages. The Cottages are spacious, furnished with teak, white linen and locally woven fabrics. Bathrooms are equipped with stand-alone showers and porcelain sinks, and there is a dressing area with wardrobe. The hotel has an ecological feel to it and is sympathetic to its surroundings, while the gardens are well-tended.
There is a swimming pool with sun-loungers and a terrace with a bar, where snacks, drinks and barbecue facilities are located. Keinnara Hpa-An has one restaurant serving international and traditional local cuisine. Mountain bikes can be rented to explore the surrounding countryside.
There are 18 Karen Cottages at Keinnara Hpa-An, 16 of the Cottages are 1-bedroom, and two are Family Cottages with three bedrooms sleeping up to five guests. 11 of the 1-bedroom Cottages have double beds and five of them are twins. Rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, wardrobes, mini-bars and balconies with comfortable seats.
Keinnara Hpa-An has one restaurant serving international and traditional local cuisine. There is also a pool terrace where drinks and snacks are served, and a barbecue can be set up during high season. Complimentary WiFi is offered in the rooms and there is also a laundry service.
Guests can explore the surrounding area, visiting local villages, monasteries, and go for a sunset cruise on the nearby Than-Lwin River.

The individual cottages are tastefully decorated, staff are welcoming - and have fabulous locally woven uniforms - and it feels really off the beaten track. The food is really good as well!
