Sleep out under the stars at Little DumaTau’s ‘star bed’ experience, falling asleep to the sounds of the wild
Botswana’s winter is May to October when the weather is hot during the day (not stiflingly hot) and cold at night. Botswana's summer months (November to April) can be hot and humid and there is a chance of rain. Botswana has one rainy season which runs between mid-December and runs through to mid-March.
Located on a private reserve in Botwana’s Linyanti Reserve, Little DumaTau is an exclusive, four-tent safari camp due to open in August 2020. Experience the incredible biodiversity of northern Botswana’s wetlands from the comfort of this luxurious camp.
Little DumaTau centers around a comfortable and spacious lounge tent with plenty of cosy corners for relaxation, overlooking the river. The outside dining area is the location for delicious, hearty cuisine whilst the ‘curiosity room’ offers a fascinating insight into the wildlife, landscapes and cultures of the Linyanti wetlands. Enjoy al-fresco sundowners by the firepit as the nocturnal creatures of the reserve emerge, or enjoy a pampering spa treatment at the wellness space shared with sister camp, DumaTau, overlooking the water.
Little DumaTau’s unique location in the Linyanti Wetlands puts wildlife encounters front and center. Enjoy morning and evening game drives in the company of expert guides and trackers, looking out for the resident herds of elephant, prides of lion and plenty of hippo that live in the lagoons and waterways. Smaller predators including wild dog and cheetah stalk the vast grazing herds, and giraffes wander majestically along the forested riverbanks. Enjoy boating safaris along the waterways, night drives in search of nocturnal wildlife and guided nature walks in search of the smaller inhabitants of the wetlands. The camp’s ‘star bed’ experience offers the opportunity to sleep out under a spectacular night sky, with the sounds of the bush to lull you to sleep. For the ultimate experience, take to the skies on a helicopter flight, viewing the rivers, lagoons and wetlands from the air and spotting wildlife as it grazes, hunts and migrates through the reserve.
Little DumaTau is located on a private concession in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, one of Botswana’s most game-rich areas located to the north of the Okovango Delta.
