Lhasa
The capital and the largest city of the Tibet Autonomous region, Lhasa in the Tibetan language simply means “the place of the Gods”. This city is home to many stunning monasteries, temples and palaces, not to mention the Potala Palace, the iconic symbol of Tibet.
An international tourist destination, Lhasa is well known for its heavenly sceneries, rich history, unique Tibetan customs and striking religious flavor. To Tibetans, Lhasa is one of the holiest sites in Tibetan Buddhism, hence it is common to see flocks of monks and pilgrims partaking in religious ceremonies or activities.
