Exploring the Lemaire Channel
Antarctic Peninsula, Antarctica
Boasting some of the most spectacular mountain scenery and icebergs, the Lemaire Channel is a truly beautiful part of the Antarctic Peninsula to explore, both on your ship and on Zodiac excursions.
Known as one of the most photogenic spots on the Antarctic Peninsula, the channel has steep cliffy sides and is just 1600 meters wide at its most narrow point. The waters here are millpond flat as they are so well protected, and you'll find plenty of weird and wonderful-shaped icebergs here. Wildlife includes gentoo penguins, southern elephant seals and south polar skuas.
