Goliath Safaris is one of the most established safari operators in Mana Pools National Park, the charismatic owner Stretch Ferreira has over 30 years experience in this area. Over this period of time Stretch has developed a unique relationship with many of the large elephant bulls and lion prides roaming the floodplains along the bank of the Zambezi. This is the place to visit if you want to experience close up elephant encounters on foot, or crawl up to packs of wild dog!
This is an authentic bush camp with just seven comfortable Meru-style tented rooms. The experience revolves around the skill, knowledge and personality of Stretch – a guide who has a real following throughout Zimbabwe and beyond. Experiences here focus on non-motorised activities which really make the most of the incredible location, wealth of game and experience of the guides.
Goliath is open in the dry season, from the end of April until mid November.
When to visit
Walking with Stretch Ferreira through Mana Pools and approaching a huge bull elephant is an experience I will never forget - and not one I would have attempted with many guides.
