Itinerary

This varied and engaging itinerary is designed to give you a fantastic insight into Turkey, combining the cultural sights with wild and romantic landscapes and the beautiful Turkish coastline. Explore the magnificent mosques and bustling bazaars of Istanbul with an expert guide before rising up in a hot air balloon to gain a birds-eye view of the unique, rocky landscape of Cappadocia. Finally take time to recline and relax at the beach or enjoy some water sports on the emerald coast.

  1. Fly to Istanbul

  2. Days 1-3: Istanbul

Beginning in Istanbul we’ve included a local guide to take you through the fascinating history of the old city as you explore the historical sites such as the imposing Hagia Sophia mosque, the enchanting Basilica Cistern and the beautiful Topkapi Palace.

Istanbul is of course also a haven for shopping, with over 5,000 stalls in the Grand Bazaar alone. Navigate the colourful lanes with your expert guide who’ll introduce you to some unique artisans and showcase local handicrafts and traditional weavers. You'll then pay a visit to the vibrant spice market where, overwhelmed by delicious smells, you'll have the chance to sample some local delicacies such as Turkish Delight and mouth-watering pastries.

If you want to add something extra special we can also include a private yacht cruise down the Bosphorus, where you can view the differing architectural influences of this sprawling city, as well as seeing the forts that guard the entrance.

Accommodation: Hagia Sofia Mansions Istanbul, Curio Collection by Hilton (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-5: Cappadocia

From Istanbul a short flight, around an hour and a half, takes you world’s away from Istanbul, to the rocky landscapes of Cappadocia. Here you’ll discover cave houses, enchanting rock formations - known as fairy chimneys- and beautiful frescoes, hidden in 10th century churches, built in to the landscape. There is a wealth of history to uncover here and your guide will explain the important role of the area to the history of Turkey and the Christians who lived here. If you are an active traveller we can also include a guided hike, or even a horse ride, through this breathtaking landscape.

Without doubt, a highlight here is taking to the skies and we've included a dawn hot air balloon flight for you, showcasing the different colours as the sun rises over this unique, breath-taking landscape.

Accommodation: Argos in Cappadocia (2 nights)

  4. Fly home from Bodrum

  5. Days 5-8: Bodrum

To end this fantastic trip, we've included a few days relaxing next to the glimmering emerald seas of the Turkish coast.

Here you can while away days swimming in the warm Mediterranean Sea, relaxing in the spa or sampling the wide array of water sports on offer. We’d also recommend taking to the water by boat, so you can explore secluded bays, with inviting crystal-clear waters.

This varied itinerary is perfect for those looking for a combination of city, culture and relaxation and is perfect any time from late April to October.

Accommodation: Six Senses Kaplankaya (3 nights)
