Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

When you arrive at Cap Maison, you are immediately welcomed by the big, friendly smiles of the staff. This boutique resort is on the west coast of St Lucia so you can expect some beautiful sunsets during your stay.
I really liked the beach at Cap Maison. Tucked in a secluded cove, it's certainly not the biggest beach but for me it had some character and didn't feel crowded so the size wasn't an issue.
I have quite adventurous tastes when it comes to breakfast but if you fancy trying a traditional Caribbean breakfast, I highly recommend the St Lucian Creole Breakfast of salt fish, roasted bakes and cucumber salad.
The plug sockets are 3 pin type G so handy if you're travelling from the UK there's no need to pack an adaptor.

Cap Maison is a beautiful property with a boutique feel to it. The Cliff Restaurant is a great spot to watch the sunset and serves some amazing food. The hotel has an additional restaurant called the Naked Fisherman which is located down on the beach which you have to take a step or two to get down to but it is certainly worth it when you get there! Lovely pools to lay by at the hotel, a small spa and an honesty bar and shop to enjoy.

Scott Dunn guests love Cap Maison and I think this is because of the intimacy and elegance of the property. This is a place perfectly suited to a honeymoon in St. Lucia due to the breath-taking views and romantic atmosphere of the Cliff at Cap dining. Fun days and lunches can then be spent at the feet in the sand dining Naked Fisherman. Many locals and ex pats as well as other tourists come here to spend a lazy afternoon so I like the fact that you get to meet other people other than those in the hotel. The wines here are out of this world and new for this Summer at Cap Masion is the wine tasting experience.

Close to Rodney Bay in the North of the Island, Cap Maison is a spectacular hotel with a real Mediterranean feel owing to its white washed buildings and terracotta roofs, offering impressive views from many of the rooms and the restaurant.
The food here is out of this world, this was my second visit to Cap Maison and I am yet to be disappointed. The main restaurant, The Cliff at Cap, offers fine dining at its best with a great selection of wine, they will recommend the best wine accompany your meal. They also have live music most nights. They now have a second restaurant, The Naked Fisherman, which is located on the beach and is a great place for an informal lunch, you have to try the shoestrings fries! Having this addition means you can also spend an uninterrupted day at the beach without having to go back to the main restaurant for lunch.
The beach is a small sandy cove offering complimentary water sports. Even though it is small the times I have been there it really wasn't very busy as many of Cap Maison's guests also use one of the two pools available here or their own pools that many of the suites have. The beach is accessed by approximately 90 steps so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
A charming hotel with welcoming and attentive staff and a real must for those that enjoy fine dining, a great choice for couples or families with older children.

I stopped in at Cap Maison to enjoy a lunch at the Cliff at Cap, and what a treat. Lunch is tapas style, so you can chose from two or three dishes (depending on your appetite), and some dishes are suitable for sharing. The portions are small but exquisite. I chose a squid ink linguini with clams and chorizo, and one of the specials of the day, shrimp with aubergine fritters. My trip was 9 days long, and this was one of the culinary highlights!

Cap Maison is an elegant boutique style villa suite resort set on a bluff overlooking the ocean. This is a real favourite of mine in St Lucia, as it is luxurious, elegant and charming with a Mediterranean, Mexican, Spanish, Moroccan, Caribbean feel to the hotel A real mix but it just works so well!
The Cliff top pool with the most comfortable sun loungers I have sat on, it feels a little like a bed or sofa, there is a lovely walk-in wine cellar, superb restaurant, bars and their new bar on the beach which you walk down to called the Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill. They also have a lovely hammock situated over the water a real must try if you fancy a dip in the lovely turquoise sea.
The Little touches in the rooms are just so memorable - like the handmade sewing kits, flip flops and repellent for guests, Rum and cookies in the room
I have been very lucky to experience Lunch and Dinner at Cap Maison which was an incredible! Wow did the Cliff Deliver and live up to their reputation; we were placed on one of the best tables Number 30 with superb views!
I think Table 30 is the best in the house for the evening apart from the romantic one on the rock with has the Champagne Zip Wire, many a men have proposed with the ring arriving this way too!
I sent Compliments to the Chef on the Foie gras, Fillet Steak and Cheesecake they were Sublime! (Also the Ying Yang Chocolate mousse that I tried too, what amazing presentation, their Pastry Chef is very talented too) I trained in Hotel Management and Catering at college, then used to work at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons in Oxford for a few years in Front Office, so I have been very spoilt with food in my career, which has made me quite a foodie, so it was so lovely to see the Cliff first hand and see how well they deliver!

Cap Maison has a real Mediterranean feel to it, it is quite a small hotel, but all the rooms are in little blocks in the gardens. The restaurant is a real highlight, as it is just on the cliff, so has lovely views. It has a nice laid back feel with live music and a great menu. It is in a busier part of St Lucia so it is more built up, but this is perfect for people who like to get out and about. The beach is quite small and down quite a few steps... So it is not for everyone, but there are complimentary water sports available so you can explore the neighbouring bays.

Tucked away in the North of the island, not far from Rodney Bay, Cap Maison is a little oasis of white washed Mediterranean buildings and terracotta roofs.
The beach here is small and in a little cove reached by steps down from the gardens. There's not a lot of room here but the beach is very pretty and good for swimming from.
The rooms are also Mediterranean in style and all different, with rich tones and mosaic tiles. There are lots of different categories from ocean view rooms right through to three bedroom suites with rooftop terraces and private plunge pools. These are perfect for groups or older families. As the accommodation is quite close together, the terraces and balconies are not particularly private but most do have wonderful ocean views.
The restaurant is set right out on the rocks overlooking the ocean and dinner is a real occasion and very romantic setting. Breakfast is also particularly good.
I would recommend Cap Maison for couples or groups of friends who aren't too worried about a large beach but would like nice accommodation and good food. It is also close to Rodney Bay and so is ideal for going out in the evenings.
