Kauri Cliffs is a stunningly beautiful luxury estate with an award winning golf course set on a remote 6000 acre plateau high above the sea in New Zealand's Bay of Islands. Picnic at a waterfall, play tennis or golf, or simply luxuriate in the spa.
Situated on 6,000 acres it offers spectacular 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean.
The rooms are all away from the main lodge, maximising space and privacy.
Situated on a world-class course, Kauri Cliffs offers the ultimate New Zealand getaway for the keen golfer.
The shining star however is the Owners Cottage which sleeps four and really is our favourite due to the large infinity pool with views over the ocean.
Set on a 6,000-acre estate in Northland, Rosewood Kauri Cliffs looks out across the Pacific Ocean, with panoramic views stretching from Cape Brett to the Cavalli Islands. Three private beaches offer space to swim, explore or enjoy a relaxed barbecue with your toes in the sand.
The property’s championship golf course is world-renowned, carved into cliff tops with dramatic sea-facing holes. Designed by David Harman, it’s a must-play for golf enthusiasts drawn to spectacular natural settings.
Accommodation includes 22 elegant suites and a collection of private villas. Each suite features an open fireplace, private terrace and views over the ocean or the golf course. The Owner’s Cottage offers up to three bedrooms, with its own infinity pool, Jacuzzi and a kitchen—ideal for those wanting private dining curated by an in-house chef.
Dining is varied and always seasonal. Choose a picnic by a waterfall, a poolside salad or a more formal multi-course dinner in the lodge. Daily cocktail hour invites guests to gather for drinks and canapés before the evening unfolds.
On-site facilities include tennis courts, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and a fitness centre. Beyond the property, a world of activities awaits—from quad biking and horse riding to deep-sea fishing and diving. Expert guides lead excursions to places like Ninety Mile Beach, Rainbow Falls, and the ancient Puketi Kauri Forest.
