Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The climate in New Zealand is incredibly pleasant, with warm and balmy summers and cold crisp winter months with wonderful clear, blue skies. The warmer high-season months of November to April are perfect for outdoor exploration. The colder months of June to August are the best time to ski.

Both North and South Islands are drier on the east coast, rather than on the west, where mountain ranges act as a trap for the moisture-rich winds from the Tasman Sea. It is also worth remembering that it is usually a few degrees cooler on the South Island than the North Island and as New Zealand has a maritime climate, the weather can change rapidly.

Commonage Villas are the newest family friendly option in Queenstown, set up above the town on Queenstown Hill with the most amazing views over Lake Wakatipu. Each beautiful alpine-style villa has 3 bedrooms but can be configured as 1 or 2 bedrooms to suit individual needs.

Each villa is individually decorated with a huge open plan living, dining and kitchen area with lovely views and all mod-cons. The large open plan kitchen can be stocked for use prior to arrival and you can either self-cater or hire a private chef if you would like to be spoilt! There are also great facilities for laundry (ideal for families after some days of adventure) and a garage for your hire-car if you are exploring New Zealand independently.

The property is set on a very steep hill which is a bit of a walk from the centre of the town but this is more than compensated for by the excellent facilities, unbelievable views and great family-friendly accommodation.
