Our ski specialists have put together these resort guides to give you an insider view of our ski resorts in Switzerland.
Comprising over 650m of pistes, the Portes du Soleil ski area enables skiers to criss-cross all day between France and Switzerland. Champery is located beneath the dramatic Dents-du-Midi mountains. The village, with its own supply of boutiques, restaurants and terraces, is situated at an altitude of 1050m with a cable car taking guests from the centre of the village straight up to 2200m.
The ski resort of St Moritz has long attracted the rich and famous, with its blend of luxury boutique hotels, spas, top-notch mountain restaurants and fabulous, high-altitude skiing. It’s little wonder that the resort brands itself ‘the top of the world’. It isn’t merely about exclusivity and glamour, though – its setting will ensure that while you’re skiing, you won’t be able to resist stopping and staring out at the view in front of you, such is the majesty of the scenery here.
The mountain village of Zermatt is one of the great ski centres of the world. Nestled in a deep valley enclosed between steeply scarped mountains, it is dominated by the iconic Matterhorn, famously known as the “Toblerone Mountain”. Zermatt is a place that every skier should visit at least once – although many who do so find it hard to stay away.
