Responsible Luang Prabang

Started by Ken, a local Laotian, Big Brother Mouse relies on visitors to help fund and distribute books that really support a very simple education system in Laos. After learning all about Ken's work with Big Brother Mouse, the morning's experience heads out from Luang Prabang to Ban Phadaeng, the village where Ken grew up. It's located about 1.5hrs into the countryside. With Ken and your guide you will visit a local school, where you will have the opportunity to listen in on an English class and afterwards you will enjoy a simple lunch with the teachers. This is a great way to understand how education works in the countryside and what challenges they face.
After lunch, you will participate in a traditional baci ceremony. Led by the village elder, a baci ceremony includes tying a cotton cord around your wrists. This is said to bless you with good friendship, health and luck on your journey ahead.
Afterwards you will return back to Luang Prabang for a relaxing evening.
