Raised among the vast landscapes and wildlife of East Africa, Saba Douglas-Hamilton is one of Africa’s most respected conservationists, wildlife filmmakers and television presenters. Born in Kenya and educated at the University of St Andrews, she grew up alongside elephants, immersed in the pioneering conservation work of her family.
Best known to international audiences through BBC series including Big Cat Diary, The Secret Life of Elephants and This Wild Life, Saba has dedicated her career to sharing the stories of Africa’s wildlife and the people who live alongside it. Today, she combines her work in conservation with running Elephant Watch Camp in Kenya’s Samburu ecosystem, championing sustainable tourism and community-led conservation initiatives.
With a lifetime spent in the bush and an unrivalled understanding of Africa’s natural world, Saba brings a rare blend of authenticity, expertise and passion to everything she does.
