Japan has four seasons, similar to the UK and is best visited in spring from March to May and autumn from September to November. December to January can be cold with snow and the summer is hot and humid. The end of March and early April is a particularly good time to visit as this is the cherry blossom season as is October for the autumn colours.

Day 1 & 2 - Explore Osaka
Dive into the fast-paced energy of Osaka, the culinary capital of Japan, on a full day guided tour designed to journey through the city’s history. Explore the unique Bone Buddhas of Isshinji Temple, whose roots stretch back to the 12th century and uncover the story of Osaka Castle, built by the warlord Toyotomi in 1583. A victim of numerous battles and reconstructions over the centuries, it is famous for its striking architecture.
Ride a wave of nostalgia taking in the early 20th century retro charm of the Shinsekai district, whose narrow streets and Tsutenkaku Tower evoke memories of a bygone age. Then step boldly into the future ascending Japan’s tallest building, Abeno Harukas, for glorious cityscape views. Along the way, expand your culinary boundaries in 21st century Dotonbori, a hub for shopping, entertainment and exciting street food. Wander through the peaceful beauty of Isui Gardens, take tea at a traditional tea house, feed the deer and come face to face with the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) of Todaiji Temple. Visit Nara’s most sacred Shinto shrine, Kasuga Taisha and stroll through the well-preserved heritage houses and traditional architecture of Naramachi.
Keep the Zen flowing at your base for the following two nights, the Shisui Ryokan. Relax at the spa, over delicious Japanese cuisine or with a soak in your private onsen. The following day head back to Nara to explore independently or opt for a guided day trip to Japan’s cultural capital, Kyoto.
