Cooking - Nishiki Market Food Shopping & Cooking Course

Take a guided stroll through the incredible mile long Nishiki food market, known as Kyoto’s Kitchen. Your English-speaking guide will discuss Kyoto’s food culture and explain the produce on display in this culinary hot spot, as you purchase the ingredients for use later in the day. After completing a tour of the market, you will visit some of the city’s less crowded back streets lined, with traditional shops selling local quality produce. Next is the traditional wooden townhouse, machiya, where you will learn how to create traditional Japanese dishes from the ingredients purchased earlier in the day.
The tour lasts 3.5-hours and starts at 14.30. There is a minimum age of 4 years and a small additional cost for ingredients, paid on the day.
