The Oberoi Mumbai is a modern hotel, evident from the moment you step into the contemporary lobby then are escorted to your well-appointed room. Handpicked by Mr Oberoi himself, the rooms at The Oberoi Mumbai are classically modern, fresh, light and extremely elegant. It is certainly every part a luxurious city hotel.
The property itself has all the facilities one would expect of a hotel of this calibre. The comprehensive renovation has resulted in three new restaurants including Ziya, an Indian concept restaurant under the direction of Michelin–starred chef Vineet Bhatia of Rasoi fame. There is something really special about entering into the Oberoi Mumbai, from the small and inconspicuous ground floor entrance you are whisked by lift in a vast atrium stretching 20 stories and bathed in light from the huge windows which overlook Back Bay. Its a wonderful antidote to the humming city outside that offers instant relaxation. Mumbai itself is worth so much more than a one night stopover on your way to other Indian destinations, it is a fascinating city with a modern edge and cosmopolitan feeling unlike anywhere else in India. The Oberois huge rooms each of which come with butler service and views over the city or the bay are super-luxurious and most importantly filled with light. What I really liked about the rooms and the hotel in general is that when you leave your room rather than entering into a maze of corridors you are transported into the huge atrium with light and views all around, its a fantastic effect and one which marks it out from so many other city hotels. The hotel is also home to some of the citys very best restaurants my favourite of which was Vetro their award winning Italian. Each meal starts with a tour of the Wine Library and once an ideal bottle is selected the sommelier then helps you with your menu choices to compliment it. A novel concept but one that works surprisingly well!

I enjoyed the relaxed feel to this city hotel. The light and airy atrium creates an informal atmosphere, and the Ocean View rooms give a great view of promenaders along the Queen's Necklace.

I absolutely loved the stunning renovation of this renowned, Bombay hotel. It has vastly improved what was already a beautiful property. I especially loved the contemporary styled restaurant Fenix which, for me, had a great ambience and a delicious varied menu.
