Corsica's coastlines are quite different depending on where you are on the island. In upper Corsica you’ll find more naturalistic beaches that are certainly beautiful, but typically don’t have many amenities. In southern Corsica resorts and luxury beaches rule the coastline with the amenities and watersports rentals you’d expect.

Porto-Vecchio is a hotspot for Corsica’s best beaches including Palombaggia Beach for snorkelling or you can unwind beneath the pine trees at Folacca Beach’s white sands.

For a Corsica beach stay with the family head to the sweeping sands of Calvi with its warm waters perfect for swimming.

Sometimes the best way to appreciate Corsica's coastline is from the water. Cruise past the striking red granite cliffs of the Calanches de Piana or kayak through the protected Scandola Nature Reserve to get closer to nature. For a bit of adventure, boat trips from Bonifacio reveal hidden sea caves such as the Sdragonato Cave, where sunlight streams through a natural opening in the limestone above. Or if you’re after a more glamorous and relaxed excursion, charter a yacht from Porto-Vecchio which has become the island’s hub for luxury boating.

Corsica's mountainous interior offers some of the most rewarding hiking and walking in the Mediterranean. Most famous to Corsica is the legendary GR20, considered one of Europe’s most challenging long-distance trails. The GR20 is best for more experienced hikers, which you can tackle part of on your holiday with an experienced guide. For more relaxed but equally rewarding walking trails, follow the Customs Officers' Path along the rugged Cap Corse coastline. And if you’d rather simply enjoy the views, the historic Trinichellu railway is one of our favourite ways to admire the island's mountains and forests without the climb.,
