Botswana has a moderate climate with three fairly distinct seasons: from December to March is the rainy season, with warm temperatures and occasional thunderstorms. April to July is dry, with sunny days and the temperature at night beginning to drop - in June and July the nights can be very cold. From August through to October the weather heats up, with October's temperatures sometimes approaching 40°C. Generally the rains break in November.

Home to Chief’s Island this area of the Delta is known to be game-rich and is renowned for having some of the best big cat sightings in Africa. Enjoy spending your next three days at Mombo Camp, this refined camp offers complete luxury along with excellent service. Spend your days out on game drives, take a delicious brunch in the bush and learn about Mombo’s rhino conservation efforts. Whilst not on game activities we recommend you take a massage on your private deck, or for those more active, work out with unbeatable bush views as your backdrop.

Next stop on this grand tour takes you into the Linyanti to Zarafa Camp located on the private 130,000-hectare Selinda Reserve. Overlooking the Zibadianja Lagoon, Zarafa has magnificent vistas from almost anywhere in camp. Make the most of your mornings and afternoons to try and find as much game as possible by heading out on daily game drives to explore this game-rich area. When water levels are high enough you should spend an afternoon cruising on the Zibadianja Lagoon in search of hippo and crocodiles, as well as abundant birdlife. Selinda is home to an array of incredible wildlife and you could spot leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, zebra and giraffe, as well as some of the rarer species such as wild dog, cheetah, roan and sable.

Your wonderful foray around Botswana ends at Jack’s Camp, a stunning, relaxing, quiet camp; an oasis in the middle of the stark but truly beautiful Makgadikgadi Pans. Jack’s Camp offers a wealth of activities which you’ll be able to make the most of during your three-night stay. If staying from January to April, you could be lucky enough to witness the migration of around 50,000 zebra and wildebeest across the Pans. Otherwise, we recommend you get up close and personal with the habituated meerkats, these friendly creatures have been known to use human heads as their sentry post. You should also head out on day and night drives to see the moonscape desert landscape, as well as exploring by quad bike. A night at Jack’s would not be complete without spending a night out on the pans where the beautiful African sun sets before you and the stars sparkle above. This iconic is the perfect way to round off this luxurious Botswana itinerary.
