The Michelin Guide recently revealed their selection of Michelin Key hotels in France. Discover our pick of these outstanding properties.
29 April 2024
In April 2024, the Michelin Guide announced the inaugural Michelin Key list, revealing the first hotels that have been awarded one, two and three key statuses. Based on deep evaluation by their team, the Key hotels represent the highlight properties in the Michelin Guide collection which they recognise as being the most outstanding in France. These are properties offering a sensational guest experience overall. Similar to Michelin Stars, Michelin Keys are awarded on a one – three key basis, with three being deemed the best of the best by the selection committee.
French hotels and resorts are widely considered to be among the best in the world in all regards: service, quality, amenities, location, and a superior sense of being overall. So aside from its French heritage, there are several reasons that point to the Michelin Guide choosing France to lead the way with the announcement of its first Keys.
“More than three quarters of Scott Dunn’s newly launched, and carefully curated, French hotel portfolio consist of properties awarded the inaugural 2024 Michelin Key awards, announced in April, including 18 of the 24 coveted Three Key properties. While the standard hotel star rating system awards stars based simply on amenities, the Michelin Guide awards the keys based entirely on the overall quality of the guest experience from start to finish,” shared Nick Cunningham, Scott Dunn’s Europe Destination Manager, “We are pleased to add that nearly 80% of our personally vetted and carefully curated hotel collection are now Michelin Key partners!”
