District Six Museum
The District Six Museum is an insightful account into a once vibrant community of merchants, artisans, laborers and immigrants. In 1966 District Six was declared a "white group area" by the National Party government, causing thousands of colored residents to be forced out into a periphery area known as the Cape Flats, while the community buildings and home were demolished.
