Hermanus
From June to December, the former sleepy fishing village of Hermanus is transformed into the world’s best land-based whale-watching destination. Moving their way from the Antarctic to the warmer waters of the Western Cape, southern right and humpback whales can be seen from the shore or on a boat trip to get close to these magnificent gentle giants.
After viewing the whales up close, leave behind the white sands and fynbos-covered dunes and take to the skies to try and capture them from above with a paragliding flight over Hermanus and Walker’s Bay.
