Jackson Hole has five distinct seasons: summer (usually June to August), fall (September through October), off-season (November), winter (December through March) and off-season (April and May). In the summer and fall, downtown Jackson Hole is bustling, and it’s easy to drive the 20 minutes to Grand Teton National Park or Teton Village. Each September, Jackson hosts a two-week Fall Arts Festival. It's a great time to stay at The Rusty Parrot. The Jackson Hole hotel has a great energy those two weeks. In the winter, the entire valley quiets down a bit. While some skiers prefer to stay 15 minutes away in Teton Village, others like staying in Jackson and driving out to Teton Village to ski. Rusty Parrot has a private, complimentary ski shuttle. Another reason to stay in Jackson Hole is the choice of restaurants, bars and shops is bigger in Jackson than in Teton Village.

The Rusty Parrot is understated and cosy, situated in a historic building the understated inn is filled with rustic charm. Tucked away on a quiet street the hotel is only a short walk from the town square. The staff are exceptionally friendly offering morning coffee, evening treats and a turn-down service with chocolates. The hotel is a little more rustic than some in Jackson but perfect for those looking for authenticity, attentive service and an excellent on-site restaurant (which is booked out months in advance).

I loved my stay at the Rusty Parrot - the staff are charming and so hospitable, the breakfasts are superb and the location is ideal for exploring Jackson Hole and the surrounding area. You're on a quiet side street, but the shops and restaurants in town are a short walk away - the best of both worlds. There are bicycles to borrow and make the most of the cycle paths to take in views of the Grand Tetons. The rooms are really comfortable, with lots of little treats including L'Occitane products in the bathrooms. Upstairs there are always freshly baked cookies by the coffee station, a library and balcony with comfy chairs and a hot-tub.

The Rusty Parrot is truly charming and located only a few minutes from the main street of Jackson. You'll feel right at home here with cosy rooms - most with their own fireplaces, and the little touches of cookies in the afternoon in the library as well as your very own bear placed on each bed. Ask for a drink on the decking in the evening before dinner, and relax whilst taking in the views.
