Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Rajasthan is known as the desert state. It is largely hot and dry throughout the year, making it a great destination to get away during cold winter months.

Summer in Rajasthan extends from April to June. It’s the hottest season so not ideal for travel, although early April is a good time to get great value for money if you don’t mind the heat. In western Rajasthan temperatures may soar, particularly in May and June, so we'd suggest avoiding Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert at this time.

The monsoon season usually runs from July to September. The temperature drops slightly, and humidity increases. During this period 90% of the rain Rajasthan occurs, although in reality Rajasthan never receives much rainfall. Lakes and rivers will be higher and there's more color to the landscape.

October to March is the best time to travel to Rajasthan. Expect warm and sunny weather, perfect for exploring and relaxing. Please note that hotels are at their busiest over the Christmas and New Year period. December and January can have very cool mornings and evening and we suggest taking some warm clothing. Whilst temperatures in the desert areas are always hot in the daytime, they become some of the coolest areas of the state once the sun goes down. It’s also normal to expect some fog in the major cities of northern Rajasthan in December and January.

Full of regal style and splendour, Royal Heritage Haveli is a former royal hunting lodge sympathetically restored to provide spacious suite accommodation full of character and charm on the outskirts of Jaipur.

A former 18th century royal hunting lodge, Royal Heritage Haveli offers regally-inspired suite accommodation that echoes the privileged world of Maharaja living of a bygone era. Rambling lawns, peaceful courtyards and plush interiors offers guests a wonderfully serene ambience just east of the Pink City of Jaipur. This characterful property retains a regal quality with interiors showcasing sweeping archways, hand-painted frescoes, intricate tilework, decorative columns and sumptuous fabrics. These architectural features and traditional Indian styling are extended throughout the 19 suites. Still run by family members of the original Maharaja, guests can expect a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality during their stay.

There are 18 suites and one Signature Suite which offers apartment-style living with a large private terrace, living and dining room, spacious bathroom, sleeping up to two adults and two children under six-years old. Each suite has been individually-furnished with traditional furnishings to complement the original architectural features and are awash with natural light and plush fabrics including silks and velvets. The bathrooms are generously-sized and standard amenities include air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and minibar. Complimentary breakfast can be taken on one of the many verandas.

Kigelia Court serves authentic northern Indian Cuisine using fresh produce from the hotel’s garden, served al fresco on the candle-lit patio. For added romance private dining can be arranged on a baradari, a secluded veranda glowing in candlelight. For drinks and snacks head to the Mehrab Bar, while Café Samosa serves all-day refreshments. Guests can relax around the lovely marble and sandstone swimming pool or relax in the spa with an Ayurvedic or Swedish massage.

Children here are more than welcome and we would suggest the premium suite which can accommodate up to two children under six.

The property offers many different options for dining so you won't be spoiled for choice. Your day will start with a freshly prepared breakfast out on the veranda, lunch can be taken in Kiglia Court a lovely alfresco dining option and you can head to Mehrab for a traditional dinner. Royal Heritage also has The Frangipani Spa which has a vairety of eastern and western massages.

Only twenty minutes away from the hotel you can visit a private polo farm where you can book a polo lesson on one of the ponies or spend some time with the majestic Marwaris in the stable. Back at the hotel you can simply relax in the gardens or pool. We would also highly recommend doing one of the cooking classes at the hotel so you can take home some of the delicious recipes you will eat during your time here.
