Port Davey Expedition Cruise
Fly by seaplane into Tasmania's remote Port Davey for two nights aboard a small expedition boat, with guided walks, river excursions, dolphins and Tasmanian food and wine.

Wildlife & Nature
Port Davey lies deep within Tasmania's Southwest National Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Area with no road access. This two night expedition begins in Hobart with a 40 minute scenic seaplane flight over the Southwest's quartzite peaks and rainforest. You land on the still waters of Bathurst Harbor, where a small expedition boat serves as your base.
Each day is planned around the weather and the group's pace, with a local guide leading walks, tender excursions and time on the water. You'll take the tender up the Davey River Gorge, where Huon pine forest grows to the water's edge, and walk the four hour return route to Stephens Bay, a wild Southern Ocean beach where Aboriginal middens record thousands of years of occupation. Bottlenose dolphins often appear in Bramble Cove. You can also spend time birdwatching, beachcombing or looking for southern rock lobster in the tide pools. There's no light pollution out here, so the night sky is exceptionally clear for stargazing. Meals are built around Tasmanian produce, and Tasmanian wine and craft beer are included throughout. On the final day you fly back to Hobart by seaplane. Departures run from December to May.Recommended Hotels Nearby
