Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Zambia has a moderate to sub-tropical climate with three distinct seasons: from November to March is the Emerald, or the rainy season, April to July is Zambia's winter, when the weather is cool and dry, and August to October is summer, when the weather is hot and dry. In terms of game-viewing, the drier months, meaning a higher concentration of game at the permanent water sources, are a superb time to visit. Alternatively come for some superb bird-watching at the end of the rains.

Days 1-4: South Luangwa National Park
Your family holiday begins as you land in Lusaka in Zambia. From here you will be met and assisted onto your connecting flight to Mfuwe Airport in the South Luangwa. On arrival into Mfuwe you will be met by your guide and transferred via game vehicle to Robin's House where your family will spend the next three nights.
Robin's House is a beautiful private house located on the banks of the Luangwa River. Perfect for families, this house offers complete privacy and exclusivity with an entire team of staff dedicated to looking after you. Activities can be tailored entirely around your needs with a whole range of activities available to suit children of all ages, including game drives and nature walks. Your holiday continues as you head back to Mfuwe Airport to catch a flight to Livingstone for a stay at Waterberry River Farmhouse along the banks of the Zambezi River for the next four nights. Again, this property is perfect for families or groups of friends, to offer extra privacy during a stay. Your stay here includes two in-house activities per day. Our favourites are the sunset cruise on the Zambezi, the island picnic, a guided village walk, and of course a trip to the world-renowned Victoria Falls.
