Ninh Binh

From Hanoi, you’ll be whisked southwards to where a hidden gem awaits: Ninh Binh. Marvel at the dramatically contrasting landscape to the city as enormous limestone mountains soar out of the ground throughout the lush, green countryside. Your base for the next two nights is the charming Tam Coc Gardens, a gorgeous boutique haven set amidst lush rice paddies and offering up a laid-back atmosphere and seclusion after the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. Your days here will be spent exploring the picture-perfect landscapes of the countryside on foot, by bike and on the tranquil waterways. Live the history of Vietnam’s first capital, Hoa Lu, by visiting ancient tombs and citadel ruins before gliding through the countryside on a leisurely bike ride, as you pass local villages. Then, you’ll embark on a gentle boat ride and walk through the majestic Galaxy Cave and marvel at the natural artistry of the stalactites and stalagmites that populate it.

Now for the most iconic destination of your epic adventure as you return northwards to the tranquil, emerald waters of Ha Long Bay. With just six suites on board, this intimate and personalised experience is perfect for couples – opt for an Imperial Suite for that added romance and be treated to your very own jacuzzi. Be astonished by the natural beauty of the bay as your boat meanders gently between the structures, uncovering secret caves, peaceful lagoons on which to kayak and hidden beaches for you to feel sand between your toes, as you listen for howler monkeys and tropical birds around you. After a day of exploring, be treated to a delectable dinner of freshly caught seafood and local ingredients in the dining room on board.

Day 6-10

Central Vietnam and Beaches

After your night on board and your final sunrise photos of Ha Long Bay, you will be transported back to Hanoi to board a short flight to either Phu Cat or Tuy Hoa airport, where you will transfer to the stunning Bai Son Ho retreat, your home for the next four nights. Situated in Vietnam’s Phu Yen province, the resort is nestled in 240-acres of tropical grounds, its Paddy Field Villas, Hill Pool Villas and Beach Pool Villas incorporate a range of architectural styles that all sit sympathetically in their lush grounds. Sink into those beautiful surrounds, whether you choose to relax gazing out at the impossibly blue waters of the ocean, enjoy the serene silence of the grounds or sink into relaxation in the wellness centre, or for something more energetic you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities. From running tracks to nature walks, village tours to cooking lessons, surfing to canoeing, the resort offers a vast array of experiences that offer a holistic experience of the area. The culinary scene here is second to none with international flavours to Vietnamese and freshly caught seafood grilled over a BBQ. The lively bars range from traditional huts on the beach to the rococo-style decor of the cocktail bar and the lively vibes of the pool bar.

If you desire further exploration of the area, expert guides can be arranged to escort you on specialised guided tours to acquaint you with this fascinating region.

The following day you’ll cruise the Saigon River to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive network of underground passages used by the Viet Cong during the America-Vietnam War. You’ll be stunned as your expert guide explains the history behind the tunnels and you’ll have the opportunity to enter, should curiosity compel you, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City by boat.
