Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
In Ruaha, the best time to visit is the long dry season, June to October, where wildlife is more concentrated around water sources and the grass is grazed and trampled down. November brings the short rains, with heavy rainfall and dramatic thunderstorms every few days, often in the evenings. From December until May there is high humidity and intermittent rainfall, and the long rains come at the end of March until the end of May, when many camps are closed as airstrips and roads are impassable.

Description
Jabali Ridge is a stylish luxury safari lodge opening in September 2017 in Ruaha National Park. This gem of a park in southern Tanzania is home to prolific wildlife including plentiful big cats, and Jabali Ridge has some of Tanzania's best safari guides.
Designed to blend in with the surrounding environment, Jabali Ridge has been built around a rocky kopje (collection of large granite boulders) with sweeping views over the Ruaha National Park. This is Ruaha's most luxurious safari lodge, and enjoys a prime position for game-viewing near the wildlife-rich Mwagusi river. There is a small spa where you can unwind after a day out on safari, and an infinity swimming pool with views over this beautiful park. Dining is a highlight, with three-course gourmet dinners served under the African sky each evening, fresh, light lunches and the choice of a bush picnic breakfast or brunch back at the lodge.
Ruaha is a wild and unspoilt park in southern Tanzania, with a wide range of wildlife to seek out on your safari. There are good numbers of big cats here, with regular sightings of lion prides, leopard and cheetah, as well as large herds of elephant and buffalo, and more unusual species such as roan antelope and sable. The guides at Jabali Ridge are some of Tanzania's finest, ensuring you maximise your experience here and see as much wildlife as possible. Safari activities include game-drives and night-drives in open-sided vehicles, and guided walking safaris which offer an entirely different perspective.
There are just ten suites here, each built in and around the kopje for ultimate privacy. With king sized beds, wooden floors, and views from every part of the suite out over the park, they are a stylish retreat where you can unwind after an exhilarating day on safari. Louvered shutters offer privacy or can be kept open. There are ensuite bathrooms with rain showers and outside each suite has a large deck with a sunken lounge - a perfect spot for a morning coffee before your first game drive of the day.
Childcare
Children above the age of 5 years are welcome at the lodge, although there are not specific child-focussed safari activities.
Activities
Expert guides will showcase the best of Ruaha National Park on game-drives, night-drives and walking safaris. Drives are in open-sided vehicles with canvas roofs (for shade), allowing the best views of the wildlife around you.
