Elegant walkways lead to eight suites decorated in high colonial style, each featuring a fireplace, antique furniture and canopied king size bed, as well as a large bathroom with Victorian claw foot bath and indoor and outdoor showers. There are six beautifully furnished one-bedroom suites. The Royal and Malewane Suites are some of the largest rooms in African lodges and offer an exclusive private hideaway with private chef, butler, sole-use game vehicle and four massages offered per suite per day. You can also relax in your own private pool, decks and gazebos.
There is also the beautiful spacious six-bedroom Africa House, which is perfect for groups or families. Each of the bedrooms has a private outside shower and deck. Antique furniture, carved four-poster beds from Mombasa, plush silk furnishings and Persian rugs create an exotic and luxurious feel. All of the rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite with twin vanity cabinets, a generous Victorian-style bathtub and walk-in shower. Each room also has its own private deck and outside shower with spectacular views of the bush.
In the main area of The Lodge at Royal Malawane there are plenty of inviting open air lounge and dining areas which sit below vaulted thatched roofs decorated with English furnishings, Persian rugs and African artefacts, in keeping with the colonial feel. A luxurious spa positioned around the courtyard features treatment rooms, a fully equipped gymnasium, steam room, hot and cold African baths, jacuzzi and casitas where you can enjoy the treatment of your choice.
In addition to daily game drives the lodge offers regular visits to local rehabilitation and community projects, hot air ballooning and helicopter flights.
