Akagera National Park's incredible transformation first began eight years ago, since then the reintroduction of lion and black rhino has been ground breaking for the conservation world. Magashi Camp is based in this 10,000 hectare national park and is at the forefront of repopulating this magnificent wilderness with the abundance of wildlife that once resounded here. Arguably one of the most scenic parks in East Africa, Akagera National Park hosts a variety of different habitats from rolling open plains, lakes, swamps, and grassy low mountains.
This brand new camp will be nestled on the scenic shores of Lake Rwanyakazinga, home to one Africa's highest hippo and crocodile populations, and the elusive stitatunga and shoebill stalk. The intimate Magashi Camp boasts only six tented rooms decorated in a tasteful contemptory style with ensuite bathrooms and impressive panoramic views.
Spend your days participating on a plethora of exciting safari activities including both day and night game drives in search of the parks lions, black rhino and other wildlife, safari walks, boating on the lake and even try your hand at fishing.
