Northern Norway
Northern, or Arctic Norway is one of the most spectacular destinations and is ideal for both winter activities or a summer adventure. To the east you will find 'Finnmark' - an area to the north of Swedish Lapland that contains the towns of Alta and Kirkenes. To the west you will find Tromso and its fantastic fusion of nature and culture.
Much of Northern Norway lies directly underneath the Northern Lights Oval, making it one of the most optimal destinations in the world for seeing the Northern Lights. Its capital, Tromso, is located in the middle of the Arctic wilderness, surrounded by steep mountains and beautiful fjords and is home to some of Norway’s greatest seafood restaurants. Husky dog sledding, reindeer and snowmobile safaris, kayaking, ice-fishing and hiking are all on offer in this remarkably diverse destination.
The strikingly beautiful Lofoten Islands encapsulate the dramatic landscape well known of Norway's coast. A haven for outdoors and nature lovers, long summer days are spent hiking and biking whilst sea kayaking is perfect for exploring the pretty hidden coves and islets of the archipelago. Wildlife spotting opportunities abound here, from whales to white-tailed sea eagles and the rich waters are perfect for fisherman hoping for the catch of the day.
