Stretching 70 kilometres across the foothills of the Altai Mountains, the Yol Valley National Park is a haven for native wildlife, including vulture-like Lammergeiers or ‘Yol’ in Mongolian. Carved by an ancient river, this verdant valley is so narrow in parts, that only two people can walk through at a time, with soaring cliffs and rocky gullies making the perfect home for ibex, yaks and Argali mountain sheep. Spend the day hiking through the valley in search of wildlife, marvelling at the breath-taking scenery of this remote corner of Mongolia.
