Langkawi is a remote island of the coast of Peninsula Malaysia in the heart of the Andaman Sea. A nature lovers paradise most of the island is covered in tropical rainforest, home to a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna whilst the coastal regions provide endless golden beaches and tropical palm trees.
Southeast Asia’s first UNESCO Geopark, Langkawi provides endless options for visitors to enjoy. Explore the mountainous interior on a guided wildlife walk or take a boat trip out to snorkel on the islands surrounding reef. Langkawi has a coastal tropical climate year round, with temperatures ranging from 23°C in the early parts of the year to 34°C towards the end of the year. The wet monsoon season is from April to October making the best time to visit from November to March. The rain starts falling the whole month of June. If you are wary of crowd the try to avoid the Malaysian school holidays as the island becomes very busy during these periods.
