Dating back to the XII century this stunning property has a wealth of history and, so much in fact that each of the 10 beautifully decorated rooms bears the name of a character who has made their mark in the history of this Inn. Being a Alain Ducasse hotel, the food served here is of course exceptional.

Hostellerie de l'Abbaye de la Celle certainly has a country feel to it as the estate has several gardens, vineyards, natural springs and rows of ancient cypresses. You really become in touch with your senses during your stay with all the fragrances, beautiful grounds and with only the sounds of nature.

The guest rooms are all individually styled and no two rooms are the same, adding to the charm of this enchanting hotel. The hotel has a delightful swimming pool which is open from May through to September. There are lots of shaded areas to keep you cool on the warmer days. The hotel's restaurant has three separate rooms which you can dine in, each has an individual atmosphere to give you a memorable dining experience. There is also a charming boutique that sells decorative objects from the local region, household linen, deli products and Alain Ducasse cookery books.

There are 10 guest rooms available at the hotel. The rooms have been individually decorated and named after historical figures linked to the hotel. They each have fabulous views of the gardens or the park and attention to detail has been key in their furnishings and decor to provide ultimate comfort. There is a combination of rooms and suites for you to stay in dependent on your preferences.


Children are welcome to come and stay at the hotel. However, there are no specific child care facilities available at L'Hostellerie de l'Abbaye de la Celle. Babysitting services are available if parents would like to enjoy an evening to themselves.


Being an Alain Ducasse-owned Inn, there hotel boasts an exceptional dining experience. The chef Benoit Witz uses local resources and influence to serve up the most delicious seasonal dishes. Many of the products are grown in the hotel's vegetable and herb garden. There are three dining rooms to choose from to include 'The Private Lover's Room' where a couple can enjoy an intimate dining experience.


There are many activities which you can participate in during your time at Hostellerie de l'Abbaye de la Celle. Guests can walk to the next door Benguine convent which is a Romenesque abbey from the 12th century and was classified as a historic monument in 1886. The abbey is currently being renovated but can be visited upon request. However, the walk to the abbey is a lovely one through the herb garden, cherry trees and fruit bushes.

You could borrow one of the hotel's bicycles to explore the local area, you will come across several medieval villages, forests and other interesting sights which will give you a true feel for the local culture.

The hotel can organise wine tasting sessions, hiking, horse riding and trips to the coast. Alternatively, you can take in the tranquil atmosphere at the hotel and enjoy the poolside built on Roman ruins with views of the abbey where there are several inviting sun loungers at your disposal.
