The hotel is located on one of the many quiet, colonial, cobbled streets that intertwine and make up Barichara, one of the most picturesque towns in Colombia. Just a short walk from the town’s main landmarks, including the San Antonio Chapel, Cathedral and impressive cemetery, it is perfectly situated to explore the town at its inherently slow pace.
There are 21 rooms which are all fairly basic and simple in design, but extremely cosy, comfortable and with the essential amenities. Guests staying at the hotel must be prepared that English is not spoken well however the staff are always on hand to help in any way possible, including helping to arrange local tours or provide information about the area. A huge draw of the hotel is the large outdoor pool used exclusively by guests, as well as the on-site spa which offers a large range of treatments. There's also a lovely open-air restaurant which serves delicious meals throughout the day at breakfast, lunch and dinner and at very reasonable price.
With Barichara being one of the more unspoilt, lesser visited regions of the country, Hotel Hicasua is one of only a few options in the area and its charm, serenity and excellent value makes it a superb choice.
