Create unforgettable memories as you discover Chile’s unmissable highlights through a series of wild outdoor adventures. This is the perfect itinerary for travellers who love being active and getting caught up in dramatic landscapes, but also enjoy a touch of comfort and luxury.

  1. Fly to Santiago

  2. Days 1-3: Santiago

Upon arrival in the capital Santiago, you will be met and transferred to your plush hotel in the vibrant city centre. To help with your bearings, we have included a guided half-day bike tour of some of the urban green spaces, hip neighbourhoods and historical highlights of downtown Santiago. If you have time head up to Cerro San Cristobal (not far from your hotel), it’s one of the city's major attractions boasting glorious views out over the skyline, flanked by the impressive Andes mountain range. With an exciting gastronomy scene and plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy a glass or two of wine there’s a lot to be liked about this buzzing metropolis.

    Accommodation: Luciano K (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-4: Torres del Paine

Today marks the start of your Patagonian adventure. It’s a long (but worthwhile) journey, and you should arrive at your lodge in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park with enough daylight to relax over dinner and enjoy a Pisco Sour whilst watching the sunset over the towering snow-peaked mountains. Your guides will brief you about what to expect and what you’ll need over the next few days before you snuggle down in your luxury yurt and drift off to sleep under the twinkling stars.

    Accommodation: EcoCamp Patagonia (1 night)

  4. Days 4-5: Torres del Paine, Patagonia, Chile

You’ll need your hiking boots, walking poles and day pack ready, as straight after breakfast you will embark on the famous W-Trek with some of your new friends from the lodge. It starts with the challenging trek towards Valle Frances leading to the very heart of the Paine Massif. You will continue upwards, through forests and crossing over rivers, stopping for a delicious picnic with a magnificent view. The day culminates with a descent through grassland and a hauntingly beautiful forest as you reach the shores of shimmering Lake Pehoe, where your accommodation for the night (Refugio Paine Grande) is situated. There will be time for a hot shower and a cold beer before sitting down with your group beside the fireplace to exchange stories over dinner.

Accommodation: Refugio Paine Grande (1 night)

  5. Days 5-7: Torres del Paine

Today’s hike is less demanding as you hug the trailhead along the shores of Lake Pehoe towards the northern side of Lake Grey. After a picnic lunch and your first glimpse of Glacier Grey, you will board a boat which will take you right up close to the face of the glacier. Watch from the outdoor observation deck as the boat navigates past icebergs and you give your legs a rest from walking. From the southern end of the glacier, you will then transfer back to EcoCamp where you will spend the next couple of nights.

Your last full day in the national park will be spent hiking the most famous, and arguably the most rewarding trail in the area. Embark on an undulating walk through the Ascencio Valley towards the three towering granite peaks of the Paine Massif. There’s a short but steep ascent before you reach the iconic lookout point where you can enjoy lunch with majestic views and of course the obligatory photo opportunities that come with it. The walk back to the lodge tends to be a lot quicker as you look forward to toasting your successes with your new pals and a final delicious dinner.

    Accommodation: EcoCamp Patagonia (2 nights)

  6. Days 7-10: Puerto Varas and surrounds

As one chapter of your adventure comes to an end the next one opens. You will be transferred to Punta Arenas airport in time for your flight to Puerto Montt. On arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel in Puerto Varas in the picturesque Lake District region, which provides the perfect base for exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

The town sits on the shores of shimmering Lake Llanquihue and is overshadowed by the perfect conical peaks of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes. There are many adventures to be had here, whether its climbing one of the volcanoes, enjoying a boat trip across the lake, hiking to the icy-blue Petrohue Falls, river-rafting or fly-fishing, or wandering around the Bavarian feeling town and sampling locally brewed craft beers. With two full days at leisure, you could also take a trip to the largely untouched archipelago of Chiloé. Completely off the beaten track and utterly unspoiled, Chiloé represents an area of Chile that still practices many ancient traditions. The islands have an aura of mythology and meeting the locals will most certainly be an experience not to forget.

    Accommodation: Hotel AWA (3 nights)

  7. Days 10-13: San Pedro de Atacama, Northern Chile

It’s time to leave Patagonia behind as you fly north to Calama and transfer across to the Atacama Desert. The highest and driest desert in the world, it is home to some of the continent’s most spectacular scenery. Your accommodation here is pretty special and all meals and guided activities are included during your stay. Choose from a bewildering range of treks through multi-coloured moonlike rock formations and sand dunes, visit high-altitude salt lakes flanked by volcanoes, enjoy sundowners beside flamingo filled lakes, visits to billowing geysers, epic horse rides and much, much more. The lack of pollution combined with its clear desert night sky make it one of the best places on earth for stargazing, and the hotel even has its own state of the art observatory, so you can learn all about the constellations. We are confident it’ll be one of your favourite places on this trip.

    Accommodation: Explora Atacama (3 nights)

  8. Days 13-14: Santiago

Transfer to Calama airport for your flight back down to Santiago. You will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel for one last night. Freshen up, head into town and recall your epic two-week adventure over a glass or two of Chile’s finest wine.

    Accommodation: Luciano K (1 night)

  9. Fly home from Santiago

Make the most of your last day in Chile, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final stroll around town before transferring to the airport to check in for your flight home.
