Shinde camp is located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon, which teems with animal and birdlife
Shinde is a beautiful and elegant safari camp located at the edge of the Shinde lagoon, an ideal base for water and land based safari activities. Located within the Shinde concession of the Okavango Delta, which borders the north of the Moremi Reserve, the wildlife in the area is really diverse.
The main camp has a dining room and lounge area set over different levels, allowing a good perspective of the Delta's waterways. It is set under canvas and surrounded by beautiful mangosteen and ebony trees.
Located at the edge of a lagoon, it is surrounded by clear waterways, which flow over yellow sands and past palm-fringed islands. This is a photographer’s delight. The island is especially favoured by members of the antelope family, including the elusive sitatunga whose elongated and splayed hooves enable it to walk on the unstable beds of reeds floating on the water. The well-equipped delta craft will enable guests to see fascinating breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans and storks. Your guides will also take you walking and for game drives by 4WD vehicle to view big game including lion and cheetah.
The eight large, twin-bedded safari style tents all have an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water and flush toilet with an open ’window’ looking out onto the delta.
Shinde Enclave is an exclusive 'camp within a camp', offering the ultimate in personal service with a fantastic wilderness experience. With a private dining and lounge area, this intimate hideaway also offers guests the services of a private chef, waiter and housekeeper as well as their own professional guide and game drive vehicle. Consisting of three luxurious tents built on raised teak decks and overlooking windswept papyrus beds, Shinde Enclave accommodates a maximum of 6 guests. Each classic safari tent features an en-suite bathroom, hot and cold running water and flush toilet - with a view! The luxury tents are within close proximity to the private dining area and viewing deck, affording an exclusive hideaway and perfect location from which a family or small group of friends can explore the Okavango Delta.
