  • Combining innovative technologies with environmental awareness, the m/v Janssonius delivers a captivating polar experience with minimal impact on the pristine landscapes

  • An ice-strengthened hull, advanced stabilisers and PC6 rating allow a smooth and safe voyage

  • A range of cabin sizes and configurations make this a suitable option for couples, families and friends

  • A strong focus on education and experience means a wealth of onboard workshops, lectures, courses and performances accompany the onshore expeditions and Zodiac cruises lead by expert guides

With innovative environmental technologies that surpass the IMO Polar Code, an ice-strengthened hull, advanced stabilisers and two main engines that deliver a speed of 15 knots, m/v Janssonius offers a smooth, safe voyage through the icy waters of the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Its relatively small size creates a sociable atmosphere across the dining room, bar, observation lounge and library while the cabins are colourful and comfortable for a relaxing end to a full day of experiences and activities.

The six Grand Suites with balconies, eight Junior Suites, eight Superior cabins, 11 twin Deluxe cabins, 14 twin Window cabins and 33 Porthole cabins range in size from 12 to 27 sq.m and cater to solo travellers, families and couples. Colourful and bright, they all feature a private shower and toilet, a sofa and flatscreen TV while the Deluxe, Superior and Suites have the added benefit of refrigerators and tea/coffee facilities.

Time onboard the Janssonius can be spent brushing up on your knowledge of the wildlife and landscapes of the polar regions in the library or listening to fascinating lectures from the team of experts and expedition leaders. Interactive workshops, musical performances and language courses add variety, while lectures on subjects such as biology, astronomy, botany and history add depth and background to the onshore activities and excursions that fill most of the day. The bar and dining room are sociable spots for catching up with friends new and old, while the large observation lounge frames the passing landscapes and their wildlife.
