Inn at Perry Cabin makes a perfect escape from the wonks of DC and offers a chance to relax in beautiful surroundings, enjoy superb spa treatments, feast on fresh crab and oysters, and explore the glories of Chesapeake Bay by sail or on bicycle. The Inn is surrounded by centuries-old gardens with lush lawns and riots of flowers. Wooden benches and Adirondack chairs look out onto the Miles River and make the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon reading a favorite book or watching the boats come and go.
The hotel retains an intimate and exclusive feel and has just 78 guest rooms including 26 suites, many with fireplaces and separate living areas. The bright and airy bedrooms boast gleaming chrome lamps and cool slate floors, with a décor that is contemporary and gently nautical with sepia photos and sketches of sailboats and shells lining the walls. The Waterfront Master Suite is especially lovely with its sweeping views and beautifully characterful art objects. Spacious bathrooms are fitted out with Italian marble tiles, fine linens, and a generous supply of luxurious amenities. Most have separate soaking tubs.
The hotel’s restaurant, offers waterfront dining, floor-to-ceiling windows and delicious seasonal foods sourced from the local environment. Every afternoon a traditional English afternoon tea is served in the drawing room. The Pursers Pub with its courtyard and open-hearth fireplace is a relaxed informal place to sample a Bloody Mary over a game of backgammon or a cooling daiquiri in summer.
The Spa at Perry Cabin is one of the best on the East Coast and includes a number of signature treatments such as a clay and flower massage and a Herbal Remedy Massage, an ancient recipe of healing herbs that focuses on calming and detoxifying pressure points.
The hotel’s outdoor infinity pool is stunningly situated in a walled garden and is open during the summer months. If you’d like to explore, there are plenty of options.
