Fly camping in Katavi
Katavi National Park, western Tanzania
Head out into the wilds of Katavi on foot with your guide for the afternoon and spend the night sleeping out under the stars - the ultimate safari adventure.
After an exhilarating walking safari, you will round the corner and find your camp for the night, with dinner being prepared and a campfire and bar where you can enjoy your sundowners. Enjoy a delicious dinner beside the fire, surrounded by the buzz of cicadas singing, sharing stories with your guide and enjoying some stargazing as far away from light pollution as you can get. Then retire to your bed for the night - a simple bedroll under a mosquito net dome, with comfy pillow and duvet to keep you cosy. With nothing but a mosquito net between you and the elements, this is a memorable experience and not for the faint hearted. Those who are bold enough to try fly camping will be able to gaze at African stars above, feel the cool breeze on your face and listen to all of the night time sounds of the bush. The sun will be your wake up call, rising as the first glow appears on the horizon to a hot cup of tea and a walk back to Chada Camp for a well earned breakfast.
