Swedish Lapland has a long tradition of logging, where huge trees would be transported downstream to reach their next destination. The remote lodges were built for the loggers to stay in whilst they were working in these remote locations. Many of these log cabins fell into disuse and have now been converted into enchanting accommodation, offering a true cabin in the woods. A stay in Swedish Lapland would not be complete without trying a typical sauna, a tradition that has spanned generations here and the perfect way to keep warm in the freezing temperatures. If you are feeling brave, you can experience the true traditional sauna and step out into the snow to cool down before heading back into the sauna.
