Take a 90-minute guided walk through the oldest area of Stockholm. An atmospheric labyrinth of cobbled streets, medieval alleyways and squares, the Old Town dates back to the 13th century. The tour takes in many of the city’s most famous historic landmarks, including the Royal Palace, the formal home of the Swedish Monarchy. First established as a 15th century fortress, the site was expanded in the 16th century into a Baroque palace and is one of the largest in the world, with over 1,400 rooms. You will also explore Riddarholmen, an area of the Old Town with many historic buildings, including 13th century Riddarholmen Church, a former medieval abbey. Other highlights include a chance to see Sweden’s smallest statue, Järnpojken, (Iron Man), and to experience the area’s most narrow alleyway, Marten Trotzigs Grand (Martin Trotzigs Alley). Do wear comfortable shoes for walking over cobblestones.
