Cape Peninsula Essentials
A scenic drive takes you to the famous Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve along one of South Africa's most scenic driving route, which also passes through the Hout Bay. Indigenous plants and animals are conserved in the priceless wilderness of Cape of Good Hope.
Enjoy a Seal Island Cruise, where you have an opportunity to see several thousand seals and sea birds in action at their natural habitat in Duiker Island.
The breathtaking Chapman's Peak Drive is next, slowly revealing multitude of sandy bays, hidden valleys and steep cliffs with turqouise ocean stretching into the horizon. The scenery en route to Cape Point, at the South Western tip of the reserve, is particularly lovely. The new lighthouse – the most powerful in the world – beams an electric light of 19 million candle power across the ocean. Ascend to the top by Funicular.
Visit the famous jackass penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Then drive through the historic naval base town of Simon’s Town and allow time to visit the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, famed as one of the world's greatest botanic gardens. Kirtensboschs offers five of South Africa's six different biomes with strong emphasis on cultivating indigenous plants. Walk on the Treetop Canopy Walkway, weaving an aerial between the branches of the garden's Arboretum.
Afterwards, we return to Cape Town.
