Perfect place to kick off your shoes and totally relax
Offering a perfect escape on the powdery white sand of Mexico's Caribbean coast, Mukan is a beautiful boutique property which boasts an incredibly unique location in the heart of the wildlife rich Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, on a narrow peninsula between the sparkling Caribbean sea and a vast turquoise lagoon.
Arriving at Mukan is an adventure in itself, with a 50-minute boat ride across the lagoon bringing you up close to manatees and an array of tropical bird species. The charming staff will await you at the hotel's dock with a cool fresh coconut drink, the perfect way to cool off in the Caribbean sun. (You can also arrive by helicopter or road if you prefer). Once here, there is nothing to do except remove your shoes and unwind in this barefoot paradise.
Accommodation comprises five rooms in the main building and five individual bungalows, some with private terrace. Construction is very restricted within the reserve so the property remains small and rooms are cozy but provide you with all the necessary amenities to relax during your stay. Kayaking and snorkeling are complimentary for all guests, and it is also possible to arrange fly-fishing and boat tours through the lagoon. Massage treatments are available in your room or on the dock by the water.
This is a perfect romantic hideaway hotel for couples or even families who like to get away from it all and be surrounded by nature.
