Hotel Terrestre is designed to provide a sanctuary for rest and relaxation in eco-sustainable surroundings, operating completely off-grid using 100% solar power. Designed by the Mexican architecture office Taller de Arquitectura X, the use of earth, wood, brick and concrete have been delicately combined to immerse guests in a unique experience, where nature and architecture interact almost seamlessly. The location is second to none, hidden in the flora and fauna of the Oaxacan rainforest, between the ocean and mountains of Puerto Escondido.
The retreat is made up of seven buildings, incorporating the fourteen interconnected villas, the restaurant, a circular pool for treatments, a long swimming lane, and a striking hexagonal spa that contains a chilled water bathtub, steam, shower, and outdoor shower. Each villa has its own garden, outdoor bathroom and an upstairs terrace with hammocks, private pool and lounge area facing the glistening ocean. The furniture is custom designed by renowned Mexican architect and designer Oscar Hagerman, adding to its peaceful atmosphere. The vibrant garden embraces a wellness area and an independent open-air restaurant, promoting strong Mexican dishes made from local produce of the region. The drinks menu includes a curated selection of refreshing cocktails and fine wines.?The wellness area features a communal circular pool for general use, a long swimming lane, and a hexagonal spa equipped with a cold-water tub and a steam bath, as well as indoor and outdoor showers.
