Six Senses Yao Noi is situated on a 24 acre site on a small island in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand. The area is famed for its natural beauty, especially its limestone island mountains in the sea which provide idyllic views from the resort and some great excursions for those wanting to explore the area by land or by sea.
The natural vegetation and tropical landscaping provides privacy between the 56 villas which have been designed with a modern, elegant architectural style and are very spacious, each with their own private infinity edge pool with large sundeck, open-air bathrooms and personal villa team trained to anticipate every whim. The Ocean Villas allow glorious views over the bay and the Garden Villas are set in a lush tropical forest. The larger Retreat Villa and the Hilltop Reserve are exclusively positioned for the most incredible views.
The design of Six Senses Yao Noi is in line with the Six Senses ethos of using natural materials and innovation to create luxurious accommodation and attention to detail. All of the resort's dining and entertainment activities take place at The Main House, giving the resort a plantation style feel. There is a choice of restaurants and bars as well as a well stocked wine cellar. Italian cuisine is served at the Dining Room which has a glass floor with river flowing beneath it and at The Living Room, Thai cuisine can be enjoyed as well as offerings from the grill, tandoori and pizza ovens. The cooking school can teach you some of these fabulous dishes so that you can take your culinary memories home with you.
The Six Senses Spa has been sympathetically designed in the style of a Thai longhouse with several separate treatment salas and a gym. Here the skilled therapists can a whole range of holistic pampering treatments made from entirely natural products. Yoga, Qi gong and personal fitness training are also available.
The waters in this area are pristine, and excursions can be arranged to nearby islands for exploration, snorkeling or diving. Complimentary bikes are available for guests to cycle to local villages and picnic spots and this is such an undeveloped island, it is definitely worth the journey.
When to visit
Waking up in my pool villa to the breathtaking views onto Phang Nga Bay was truly amazing and something I will treasure for the rest of my life.
