The Krabi Night Market opens Friday to Sunday evenings with more than 70 stalls. Unlike the touristy alternatives in Ao Nang, this is where locals actually eat.
The market peaks around 7 PM. Grilled seafood – prawns, squid, fish cooked over charcoal. Pad Thai done properly. Moo Ping, those marinated pork skewers. Som Tam. Thai fried chicken. Mango sticky rice for dessert, or coconut ice cream served in its shell.
There's live entertainment from local artists on a central stage, and handcrafted jewelry and local paintings of Krabi's beaches scattered through. It's roughly 30 minutes from Banyan Tree Krabi, easily arranged through your hotel. Arrive by 7 PM if you want a table – by 8 PM it's packed.
